Alisa Babitz is of counsel in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Washington, D.C. office. She is a member of the firm’s Corporate Transactions Practice Group, focusing on securities law and mergers and acquisitions. She advises public and private companies on a wide range of general corporate, securities and M&A matters including public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities; acquisitions, dispositions and other business combinations; strategic alliances and joint ventures; and venture capital investments. Ms. Babitz has co-authored several articles on various corporate and securities law topics, as well as the “Securities Law Issues” chapter of The M&A Practice Guide, LexisNexis (2010) and chapters in Partnership, Joint Ventures & Strategic Relationships, Law Journal Seminars-Press (2010). Ms. Babitz earned her law degree, cum laude, in 1993 from Harvard Law School. She received a bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, in history from Columbia University in 1990. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.

- Represented NeuStar, Inc. which maintains telephone number data bases pursuant to a contract sponsored by the FCC, in several acquisitions of government contractors.
- Represented EaglePicher Corporation in the 2010 sale to OMG of Eagle Picher Technologies, which supplies batteries and related technologies to the Department of Defense.
- Represented GridPoint, which provides services to utility clients, in connection with acquisition of Standard Renewable Energy, L..P., which provides services to government clients.
- Represented founders of Eclat Consulting in connection with formation of government contractor.
- Represented Liquidity Services, Inc., which has government contracts to market Department of Defense surplus, in connection with several acquisitions and other transactions.
- Represented Ener1, a batter technologies company that has Department of Energy grants and contracts, in connection with various acquisitions and capital raising transactions.
- Represented Sallie Mae in several acquisitions.
- Represented Global Research Services, in its acquisition of assets of Medifacts International, Inc.
- Represented The Corporate Executive Board Company in its acquisition of Executive Performance Group.
- Represented management in management buyout of APCO Worldwide Inc. from Grey Global Group, Inc.
- Represented Del Monte Corporation in its disposition of several lines of business to Royal Canin USA, a subsidiary of Mars, Inc.
- Represented Del Monte Foods Company in its acquisition of SKF Foods, Inc. from H. J. Heinz Company.
- Represented Wolverine Advanced Materials, LLC in the formation of a joint venture with Magicworks, Inc. to form a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise in the People’s Republic of China.
- Represented Synthetic Genomics, Inc, in the formation of a joint venture with Asiatic Centre for Genome Technology Sdn Bhd.
