Gavin S. Martinson is an associate in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he currently practices in the firm's Litigation Department. Mr. Martinson has represented clients in a broad range of cases before federal and state appellate and trial courts. Recent matters have involved actions under the False Claims Act, health care fraud, punitive damages, antitrust, and constitutional issues. Mr. Martinson received his law degree from the University of Chicago in 2005. During law school he was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review. He graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University, where he received an undergraduate degree in history and Spanish translation. Following law school, Mr. Martinson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert C. Jones for the United States District Court, District of Nevada. He later served as a law clerk to the Honorable Milan D. Smith, Jr. for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Martinson is admitted to practice in California and Texas and he is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas. Mr. Martinson also speaks Spanish. Publications
