Jessica I. Basil is a senior associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and practices in the firm's Corporate Transactions Practice, Global Infrastructure Practice, Energy Practice and Cross-Border Practice groups.
Ms. Basil’s practice focuses on project and general finance in the areas of gas, power and infrastructure with a particular focus on representing lenders, sponsors and developers in connection with the construction, development, financing and operation of power generation projects, including wind and other alternative energy sources (including landfill gas, hydro and biofuels) in the Middle East, Latin America, Europe and the United States. She also has extensive experience with the negotiation of engineering, procurement and construction contracts related thereto. Ms. Basil also has experience in the acquisition, disposition and restructuring of major infrastructure projects.
Ms. Basil earned her Juris Doctor in 1999, cum laude, from Harvard Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in 1996 from University of Pennsylvania, Phi Beta Kappa, and her Masters degree in history in 1996 from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Basil is a member of the State Bar of New York and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
