Jill Pfenning is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she is a member of the firm's Litigation Department.
Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Ms. Pfenning served as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter W. Hall of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In 2007, Ms. Pfenning graduated summa cum laude from Vermont Law School, where she received the Learned Hand Award for achieving the highest academic standing in her class, and the Student Pro Bono Award for her involvement in community service. Ms. Pfenning authored an article titled "Inadequate and Ineffective: Congress Suspends the Writ of Habeas Corpus for Noncitizens Challenging Removal Orders By Failing to Provide a Way To Introduce New Evidence," published in the Vermont Law Review. Prior to law school, Ms. Pfenning was a high school mathematics teacher and also taught English in Korea on a Fulbright grant. In 1996, Ms. Pfenning graduated with high honors from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Pfenning is admitted to practice in Vermont and in the District of Columbia. |
