Kai Gesing is a German-qualified attorney in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.  He is a member of the firm's Antitrust, Intellectual Property and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups.

Mr. Gesing focuses on European and German antitrust and competition law. He advises clients in all aspects of domestic and international antitrust issues, including antitrust compliance, defense in cartel investigations, the legal set-up of distribution systems, and merger clearance proceedings before the German Federal Cartel Office, the European Commission and other international competition authorities. In this context, Kai Gesing has a wealth of experience in advising clients, particularly from technology-driven industries, including high technology, telecommunications, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in complex transactions involving acquisitions, joint venture scenarios, intellectual property portfolios and technology licensing.

In addition, Kai Gesing’s practice has a focus on white collar defense and compliance advice, in particular with regard to the prevention and detection of, and reaction to, various types of banned business practices such as cartels, abuse of market power, corruption, fraud, money laundering and bribery. Mr. Gesing was involved in white collar crime investigations in Germany and other European and Asian countries and has developed a particular expertise in the international and German law aspects of anti-corruption laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). He is a member of an international team of attorneys assisting the U.S. Independent Counsel to the first, non-U.S. Compliance Monitor in connection with the largest FCPA settlement ever.

Mr. Gesing has worked for Gibson Dunn since 2002 on several important litigation matters. He represents clients in national and international litigation and arbitration cases related to antitrust, unfair competition, intellectual property and commercial law disputes.

Kai Gesing speaks German and English.
