Mildred M. Ojea, an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Latin American and Corporate Transactions Practice Groups, joined the New York office in 1999. Ms. Ojea’s practice focuses on cross-border finance and private equity transactions in Latin America and the United States.
Ms. Ojea has experience in privatizations, general corporate work, labor matters and litigation. She has represented several governmental agencies in Argentina.
Ms. Ojea also has experience in general commercial lending, structured and project finance and MLA lending transactions, having advised clients in the water and power industry primarily in Argentina and Brazil. She also has participated in multiple restructurings representing, in some cases, the creditors’ interests and, in other cases, the debtor’s interests.
Ms. Ojea has a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, as well as a law degree (Abogada), with honors, from Universidad del Salvador Law School in Argentina. In addition, she earned a Master of Laws, with honors, from Northwestern University School of Law. She was admitted to practice law in Argentina in 1995 and in New York in 2001. She is a member of the New York bar.
Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Ms. Ojea worked as an associate for Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal, a law firm in Argentina, and the Government of Argentina. She is a citizen of Argentina and is fluent in Spanish and English.
