Nicholas Aleksander is an English qualified partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Mr. Aleksander has advised on the taxation of business affairs for over 20 years. He develops imaginative solutions to meet the commercial objectives of clients' tax needs effectively. He has extensive experience of advising not only investment banks, but also quoted and unquoted companies in relation to tax issues arising on corporate transactions, including all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reconstructions and private equity/venture capital. He has particular expertise on the tax consequences of investment in real estate and on tax efficient remuneration and share incentive schemes for directors and employees. He liaises closely with colleagues in other practice groups and works in cross-disciplinary teams. Mr. Aleksander writes and lectures on taxation issues. He is a part-time Judge of the First Tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber) and a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber). He is a member of the City of London Law Society. Memberships of other professional bodies include the International Fiscal Association, The Society for Advanced Legal Studies and The Royal Society for Arts.
