Sarah Toraason is an associate in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department. Ms. Toraason represents clients in complex commercial disputes involving securities, contract, business tort, insurance coverage, ERISA, and intellectual property claims. She has experience defending accounting firms, corporations and their officers and directors in securities class actions and SEC enforcement matters. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Toraason has substantial experience assisting large corporations on a variety of records management-related projects. She has been involved in advising a number of companies on records management issues, overseeing the development and implementation of records management programs, and working closely with outside records management and electronic discovery vendors.
Before joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Ms. Toraason served as a law clerk to the Honorable Henry Coke Morgan, Jr., of the Eastern District of Virginia. She then clerked for the Honorable Fortunato P. Benavides of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Ms. Toraason received her J.D. from William & Mary School of Law, where she served as Research Editor of the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in Music and Leadership Studies and received her M.B.A. and M.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
Ms. Toraason is admitted to practice in California and Texas. Ms. Toraason is also admitted to practice before the Northern District of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, the Western District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
