"We are pleased to welcome Peter to the firm," said Ken Doran, Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. "He is a top-notch environmental lawyer who will complement our Environment and Natural Resources group, which focuses on large litigation matters such as toxic tort cases and cost recovery actions. We expect Peter's environmental and commercial litigation experience will also benefit our Real Estate and Litigation practices."

"Peter is highly regarded," said Fred Brown, Partner in Charge of the San Francisco office. "Our lawyers have known him for many years from both sides of the table and have been impressed with his skill, experience and enthusiasm. With Peter located in San Francisco, we will present an even stronger team to clients for local, high-stakes environmental matters and high-profile real estate development projects."

"I look forward to joining Gibson Dunn," said Modlin. "The firm will provide me with the broader platform I need to provide first-rate service to my clients in California and nationwide."
