Gibson Dunn to Receive Top Honor from Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center

Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP is honored to receive the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center's (RMCLC) inaugural Outstanding Volunteer Law Firm of the Year award.  The RMCLC will honor Gibson Dunn's Denver office for its dedication to the organization and the children it serves at its annual Volunteer Attorney Appreciation event at the Denver Botanic Gardens on October 25, 2007.

"Gibson Dunn's Denver office has enjoyed a strong working relationship with the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center for several years," said Jessica Brown, a partner in Gibson Dunn's Denver office.  "Having the opportunity to assist at-risk and maltreated children through the Children's Law Center has been one of Gibson Dunn's greatest honors, and we look forward to furthering our relationship with this exceptional organization and the children it protects."

"They’ve made an extraordinary commitment to the defenseless," said Shari Shink, Founder and Executive Director of the RMCLC.  "And as a result, they have saved the lives of countless children, and they do it within an organizational culture which values caring and community service."

During the course of its three year relationship with the RMCLC, Gibson Dunn has advocated on behalf of children in more than 40 cases, and has successfully argued as Guardian Ad Litem for protective custody of children in both the County and District Courts.  In addition to honoring Gibson Dunn, the RMCLC will be honoring Holland & Hart for its commitment to the organization, and Dorsey & Whitney will receive the Newcomer of the Year Award.  In addition, the RMCLC will be honoring two Volunteer Attorneys of the Year, Mary Price Birk and Debbie Smith.
