Brett H. Oberst is Of Counsel in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Los Angeles office. He is a member of the firm's Litigation Department, and the Environmental Litigation and Mass Tort Practice Group.
Mr. Oberst's practice focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis in environmental litigation and regulatory practice. His experience includes professional malpractice, business tort claims and general business litigation. He has experience handling complex discovery and motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial matters. His environmental work focuses on toxic tort litigation, including the legal, regulatory, and scientific issues that arise in the course of defending such claims. His practice also includes litigation and regulatory compliance over environmental contamination and clean-up issues.
Mr. Oberst is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar of the Central District of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He received his bachelor of sciences degree from Cornell University in 1994, where he graduated with honors and distinction. He received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1997, where he graduated cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif.
