Benjamin Williams is an associate in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department and has worked on a cross section of employment, antitrust and complex litigation matters.
Mr. Williams received his law degree
magna cum laude in 2010 from the SMU Dedman School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and The Barristers, an honorary service organization. While in law school, he served as an editor of the
SMU Law Review and as editor in chief of the law review’s
Journal of Air Law and Commerce. Mr. Williams also completed two externships during law school: one for the Honorable A. Joe Fish of the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and a second at the Office of the General Counsel for Southwest Airlines Co. Mr. Williams was the 2009 recipient of the Wayne Vines Aviation Safety Memorial Scholarship. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree
magna cum laude from SMU.
Prior to the practice of law, Mr. Williams worked as a senior principal of labor and employee relations for American Airlines, Inc. in Ft. Worth, Texas, where he participated in collective bargaining with the airline’s unions and served as both commissioner and deputy commissioner of one of the airline’s system boards of adjustment. Mr. Williams has experience chairing and co-chairing arbitration proceedings and has been a board member on numerous arbitration panels. He is also a certified mediator and trained in alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Williams also performs pro bono work for Gibson Dunn’s Dallas Adoption Program and for Lambda Legal, a non-profit organization committed to advancing the rights of the LGBT community.
Mr. Williams is admitted to practice in the State of Texas. He is also admitted to practice before the Northern District of Texas.
