Eike Grunert is a German-qualified attorney in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He is a member of the Firm's International Corporate Transactions, Intellectual Property and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups.
Mr. Grunert focuses on cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, including strategic investments and private equity transactions. He further advises on corporate and commercial law matters, transactional aspects of intellectual property law, cross-border joint ventures and international commercial litigation and arbitration. Mr. Grunert has advised clients from various industries, including healthcare, entertainment, automotive, chemical, steel and software, in the establishment, acquisition, restructuring, sale and liquidation of their German operations.
In addition, Mr. Grunert has developed expertise in corporate governance and compliance, and is a member of an international team of attorneys assisting the U.S. Independent Counsel to the first non-U.S. Compliance Monitor, in connection with the largest FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) settlement to date.
Mr. Grunert is co-author and editorial head of the leading practitioner's compendium on German copyright law and has published various articles on the copyright aspects of stage entertainment and the exploitation of copyright works by digital media.
Before joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Grunert was a university lecturer at the University of Passau (at the Chair for Civil and Procedural Law) and at the Humboldt University of Berlin (Institute for Intellectual Property Law).
