Edward A. Tran is a New York, California and English qualified associate practicing in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Mr. Tran's practice focuses on general corporate and corporate finance transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, international capital markets, securities law matters and venture capital. He regularly represents public and private buyers and targets in auctions, assets sales and mergers. Mr. Tran's capital markets experience includes advising public and private companies and investment banks in matters involving equity and debt securities in connection with public offerings on U.S., European and other exchanges, private placements under Rule 144A and Regulation S, and liability management transactions. In addition, Mr. Tran counsels clients on U.S. securities laws compliance matters, corporate governance issues and stock exchange listing obligations.
Mr. Tran earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law in 2000. At Columbia, Mr. Tran was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as Executive Editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. Mr. Tran received his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction in Political Science in 1997 and his Master of Arts in International Policy Studies in 1997, both from Stanford University.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Tran practiced in Dewey & LeBoeuf's New York and London offices from 2000 to 2006, and in Latham & Watkins' Silicon Valley office from 2006 to 2009.
