Priya Mehra is an associate in the Singapore office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Her areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, privatization, capital markets and general corporate advice. Ms. Mehra has an extensive background working in the Indian markets and her experience includes advising foreign investors in formation of joint ventures in India and/or acquiring stakes in Indian companies; advising private equity investors on the most viable investment options in India vis-à-vis foreign investment guidelines; advising Indian companies in forming joint ventures and acquiring stakes in overseas companies; and advising Indian and foreign investors in acquiring government equity in public sector undertakings, including advice on key issues related to status of government companies and implications of change in status. Ms. Mehra's capital markets experience includes assistance in initial public offerings, follow-on public offerings, rights offerings, and private placements, representing issuers and investment banks, advising in connection with Securities Exchange Board of India Rules and Regulations and assistance in Rule 144A and Regulation S transactions by Indian companies. Ms. Mehra has also worked on project finance transactions in advising major international energy companies. She also advises on statutory compliance under the Indian Companies Act, Foreign Exchange, Securities, Labour and Environmental laws.Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Ms. Mehra worked in the Singapore office of Jones Day (2007-2008). She was previously a senior associate in one of India's leading law firms (2002-2007).Ms. Mehra received an LL.B. in 2002 from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, and a B.A. (Hons) in 1999 from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Ms. Mehra is admitted to practice in India and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
