Among our successes:

• Assisted several major aerospace companies with specific advocacy issues both in Washington, D.C. and in foreign countries regarding defense and transportation-related issues.
• Assisted and helped to develop a public policy strategy for America's largest organ procurement organization, counseling on local, state and federal policy issues.
• Assisted in obtaining line-item appropriations on behalf of several nonprofit organizations, which enabled them to obtain the financial resources necessary to accomplish their public policy goals, including reducing the threat from weapons of mass destruction, terrorism and reforming the U.S. export control system.
• Helped to fashion and implement a sound legal and legislative strategy for our client, a major satellite manufacturer, that was under investigation by nine different Congressional Committees and the Department of Justice.
• Assisted engineering client in obtaining favorable governmental focus, attention and publicity on a new technology which enabled client to sell part of its company to a major firm for a favorable price.
• Assisted several major foreign firms in obtaining approval both from the Department of Defense and other regulatory agencies for acquisitions of U.S. defense contractors and subcontractors and in responding to political objections raised to the acquisitions.
• Assisted hedge funds and other private equity funds in assessing political and regulatory risk relevant to investment decisions.
• In resisting a hostile takeover effort directed toward our high technology client, we developed an executive legislative strategy that involved review by senior Department of Defense officials of the proposed takeover based upon national security considerations. Our successful efforts triggered a second Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust review and helped defeat the hostile takeover effort.
• Assisted real estate development company in obtaining approval for real estate and hotel development projects in several foreign countries by working with the governments of those countries.
• Assisted engineering client in the sale of a piece of its business which could not have occurred without state legislative assistance.
• Assisted major maritime client, in developing a public policy strategy dealing with complex maritime issues. The legislative strategy, which involved working with senior members of Congress and the White House, was tailored to enable the client to achieve its objectives.
• Obtained legislation in the state of California insuring that our client, subject to a range of regulatory prospects, was treated in the most favorable possible manner.
• Succeeded in insuring that our client's product, subject to a maze of local and state regulatory schemes, was treated in a manner consistent with sound business practice and subject to clear and understandable local criteria throughout the state.
• Worked with state department of insurance and state legislature in obtaining approval of previously disapproved life insurance plans for our client
