This program begins with a concise review of the financial rescue bill (Emergency Economic Stabilization Act) and related federal agency actions. Our panel shares business and legal perspectives on the current financial crisis, with specific focus on the questions and steps board members should be considering right now.

Suzanne Hopgood
Served as either CEO, Chairman of the board, and/or Director on 9 boards, primarily those facing legal, financial, or regulatory issues. Co-authored Board Leadership for the Company in Crisis and serves as the Director, Board Advisory Services at NACD. 

Michael W. Tankersley
Counseled management and boards of financial institutions and distressed companies in Texas from 1980 to 2007. In 2007 he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the first Inspector General of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. He co-authored Board Leadership for the Company in Crisis and serves as a member of the NACD teaching faculty.

Amy L. Goodman
Partner; Co-chair of the firm’s Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance practice group. She advises clients with respect to securities disclosure, regulatory, governance, and SEC issues. Had an 11 year career with the SEC, ending as Associate Director in the Division of Corporation Finance.

Brian J. Lane
Corporate securities partner and member of the firm's Financial Services Crisis Group with extensive expertise in a wide range of SEC issues. He advises boards regarding governance and SEC issues. Had a 16 year career with the SEC, ending as the Director of the Division of Corporate Finance.
