Lois F. Herzeca, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn's Fashion, Retail and Consumer Products Group, is a corporate partner in the firm's New York office. Ms. Herzeca's broad corporate practice includes mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, licensing agreements, and joint ventures. She represents a wide spectrum of fashion designers, luxury goods companies, retail companies and manufacturing companies. She has written numerous articles for legal and financial publications, including most recently "Strategies for Allocating Long-Term Value in Fashion and Apparel License Agreements," for the May 2010 issue of Entertainment Law and Finance.
Ashlie Beringer, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn's Information Technology and Data Privacy practice group, is a litigation partner in the firm's Palo Alto office. Ms. Beringer’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, consumer law and class actions, and complex commercial litigation, with particular expertise representing clients in the new media, Internet, advertising, communications and entertainment industries. She has successfully represented clients throughout the country in complex patent, copyright, trademark and trade secrets disputes, including several significant disputes involving digital technologies, communications platforms, and Internet advertising and e-commerce networks. Ms. Beringer lectures frequently on topics relating to digital rights protection, marketing and communications, and Internet technologies, and has been featured at national conferences on topics such as: “Internet Advertising and Trademark Protection,” “Corporate Communications in a Digital Age,” “My Space, Facebook and the User Generated Content Revolution,” and “Protecting Trade Secrets in a Digital Age.”
Alexander H. Southwell, Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn's Information Technology and Data Privacy practice group, is a partner in the firm's New York office. Mr. Southwell's practice focuses on counseling a variety of clients on privacy, information technology, data breach, theft of trade secrets and intellectual property, computer fraud, national security, and network and data security issues, including handling investigations, enforcement defense, and litigation. In particular, Mr. Southwell regularly advises companies victimized by cyber-crimes and counsels on issues under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, and related federal and state statutes. Additionally, Mr. Southwell handles a range of white-collar criminal and regulatory enforcement defense, internal investigations, compliance, and complex civil litigation matters. An experienced trial and appellate attorney, prior to joining the firm, Mr. Southwell served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
