Based in New York, the Junior Real Estate Paralegal will assist our attorneys with a wide variety of tasks and projects.

This role reports to the Manager of Paralegal Services.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Work on deal closings relating to the mortgage financing, mezzanine financing, acquisition and sale of national commercial real estate projects.
  • Maintain closing checklists, prepare UCC financing statements, escrow instruction letters, loan assignment and termination documents and other ancillary documents.
  • Prepare signature page packets, inventory signature pages and assemble final documentation for closing.
  • Attend to post-closing matters including the distribution of original documents, preparation of closing binders and follow-up of recorded documents, title policies and other post-closing items.
  • Form corporate entities and prepare operating documentation, consents and certificates. Apply for employee identification numbers.
  • Prepare transfer forms on ACRIS.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed and work at least 4 days a week in-person.
  • Upon date of hire, willingness to obtain your license as Notary Public.
  • Other tasks as required by the group/firm.

Experience

  • College degree
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $55-63k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
