Jeremy Kenley is a partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher and a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. Jeremy has broad experience advising clients in the UK, across Europe and Asia on a wide range of corporate matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fund formation, leveraged buy-outs and joint ventures.

Jeremy has a particular focus on all aspects of real estate private equity, including the formation of real estate private equity and debt funds, as well as related real estate and debt acquisitions, real estate mergers and acquisitions, real estate joint ventures and co-investment deals and structures, having advised clients on numerous high profile, cross-border, complex transactions in these areas.

Jeremy is ranked as highly regarded in IFLR1000 2022 for M&A, Real Estate Acquisitions and Real Estate Funds. He is also recognised in The Legal 500 UK 2023 for M&A: upper mid-market and premium deals, Private Equity: transactions – high-value deals and for Real Estate sections – Commercial Property: Investments and Property Finance. Jeremy was also recognized in Lawdragon's 500 Leading Global Real Estate Lawyers in 2024.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Jeremy practised at Mayer Brown International, LLP and served as the global co-leader of its Corporate & Securities group from 2014 to 2017. Between 2006 and 2012 Jeremy was the European General Counsel for Citi Property Investors and subsequently the Global Real Estate Counsel for Apollo Global Management.

Jeremy is also admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, as well as England & Wales, and spent three years practising law in Hong Kong.

  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management in relation to the establishment of a programmatic joint venture to acquire in the Uk a portfolio of multi-family homes as well as single-family homes
  • Advised Hackman Capital Partners on various European joint ventures, including the acquisition of interests in various film studios in the UK and Scotland
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management on its acquisition of Center Parcs and continues to advise on all aspects of its management and ownership of Center Parcs
  • Advised KKR’s real estate funds on a programmatic joint venture in relation to European hotels and hospitality assets
  • Advised Apollo Global Management on the take private of Atlantic Leaf, a South African and Mauritian dual listed company, owning an extensive portfolio of UK industrial real estate assets.
  • Advised Apollo Global Management on the sale of the majority of the Atlantic Leaf portfolio to third party logistics investors
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management in relation to a programmatic joint venture to acquire logistics and industrial assets across Central and Eastern Europe
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management in relation to the acquisition of a portfolio of boutique hotels across Europe
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management on the establishment of a multi-tied joint venture to facilitate the acquisition of an iconic London office building
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management on the acquisition and joint venture arrangement relation to 19 student housing portfolios across numerous cities in Spain and Portugal
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management in connection with the acquisition of a controlling interest in a group of French companies comprising a student housing business, a hotel apartment operator business and a construction and developer business
  • Advised Brookfield Asset Management on the establishment of a programmatic joint venture investing in French logistics and industrial assets
  • Advised Centerbridge on the acquisition and joint venture arrangements for a portfolio of boutique hotels in Belgium and Holland
  • Advised Centerbridge on the acquisition of a portfolio of logistics assets in Germany, UK, Switzerland, Poland and Hungary
  • Advised Realty Income on its acquisition of a portfolio of supermarkets and other UK commercial properties
  • Advised Related Argent on a joint venture in relation to the first major phase of an £8 billion development at Brent Cross Town, a new town in North London
  • Advised Tishman Speyer in their acquisition of the Q207 building in Berlin, Germany. The acquisition was a co-investment between Tishman Speyer, an Asian sovereign wealth fund, and a Canadian pension fund.
  • Advised Related Argent in connection with a joint venture for the BTR development in the UK at the Triangle Site on York Way, part of the King’s Cross Estate in London.
