Global Competition Review Recognizes Gary Spratling and Two Gibson Dunn Matters

At its annual GCR Awards, Global Competition Review recognized San Francisco partner Gary Spratling with a Lifetime Achievement Award and named two Gibson Dunn matters as Merger Control Matters of the Year.  Microsoft/LinkedIn was named Merger Control Matter of the Year in Europe, and Marriott/Starwood was named Merger Control Matter of the Year in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa.  The Firm represented LinkedIn and Marriott respectively.

Eight Gibson Dunn Partners Recognized in Energy and Environment Expert Guides

​Euromoney's Expert Guides has named eight Gibson Dunn partners to its 2017 edition of the Energy and Environment Guide, which recognizes top legal practitioners advising on energy and environmental law.  Selection to this guide is determined by a survey of fellow legal practitioners in more than 90 jurisdictions.  The Gibson Dunn partners included in the guide are Peter Hanlon, William Hollaway, Nicholas Politan, Brad Roach and William Scherman for Energy, and Patrick Dennis, Raymond Ludwiszewski and Daniel Nelson for Environment.

Gibson Dunn Earns 144 Total Rankings in Chambers Global 2017

​In the 2017 edition of Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business, Gibson Dunn earned 144 total rankings – 39 firm practice group rankings and 105 individual rankings.  The firm and its lawyers were recognized globally and in the Europe, Latin America and Middle East regions, with additional recognitions in Belgium, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.  This year, 77 Gibson Dunn attorneys were identified as leading lawyers in their respective practice areas, with some ranked in more than one category.

F. Joseph Warin Named Among Top Latin America Lawyers

Latinvex named Washington, D.C. partner F. Joseph Warin to its 2017 Latin America's Top 100 Lawyers list, which recognizes "the leading attorneys from international law firms that are involved in the legal business of Latin America."  Warin is one of six lawyers in the FCPA & Fraud section of the list.  Selection was based on "a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of firm in Latin America and rankings by third parties."  The list was published on February 21, 2017.

Gibson Dunn Recognized for Innovation in Real Estate

​Real Estate Finance & Investment named Gibson Dunn as the 2017 Law Firm of the Year for Innovation for the firm's work on the Golden State Warriors' new arena and the NFL stadium in Inglewood, California.  The REFI awards are given to "recognize and reward those real estate finance professionals that have demonstrated exceptional performance and innovation over the past 12 months." The awards were announced on February 14, 2017.

AP Renewables’ $US225 Million Climate Bond Named IJ Global Asia Pacific Project Bond Deal of the Year

IJ Global named AP Renewables' $US225 million climate bond as the Asia Pacific Project Bond Deal of the Year at its annual IJ Global Awards 2016.  Gibson Dunn represented AP Renewables as issuer, in what was the first climate bond issued for a single project in an emerging market.  The bond was issued in connection with the refinancing of the Tiwi-Makban geothermal plant.  The Gibson Dunn team was led by Patricia Tan Openshaw who was assisted by Cristina Uy-Tioco and Juhae Chae.  The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Singapore on March 9, 2017.
