The U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers awarded Gibson Dunn 120 top-tier practice area rankings in their 2014 Best Law Firms survey. Overall, the firm earned 158 rankings in seven states/metropolitan areas and nationally. The rankings were based on surveys regarding law firm “expertise, responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, civility, and whether they would refer another client to the firm.” The national first-tier rankings are featured in the U.S.

The National LGBT Bar Association named Los Angeles associate Douglas Champion as one of the 40 recipients of its annual “Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” award, which recognizes “lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field and demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBT equality.” The award will be presented at the Annual Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair in San Francisco, California on August 24, 2013.

The Daily Journal named Los Angeles partner Catherine Conway to its 2013 list of Top Labor & Employment Attorneys, which featured 75 California-based lawyers. In selecting the attorneys for the list, the Daily Journal “sought to recognize work that is having a broad impact on the legal community, the nation and society.” Conway was honored for her work handling employment class actions.
