Based in Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, San Francisco or Los Angeles, the Director, Client Development will be responsible for overseeing the Litigation and Regulatory practices. The primary role of the Director, Client Development is to drive the revenue growth of the Firm, support lawyers with their marketing initiatives and manage the Litigation Client Development Team.

This role reports to the Co-Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Chairs of Litigation, relevant Practice Group Leaders and the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officers to determine visibility and client development priorities and plans for the Litigation and Regulatory practices.
  • Leading the development, execution, and review of the relevant strategies and related initiatives for the related practices and lawyers.
  • Working with relevant lawyers providing coaching and guidance on visibility and client development initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Client Development – Transactional and the internal client development team on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities and efforts.
  • Participating and driving related client development initiatives including responses to RFPs, the creation of standard materials and content, client presentations, and client relationship reviews.
  • Working with the Market Intelligence Team and Knowledge Management to spearhead matter experience collection.
  • Collaborating with the relevant Practice Group Managers to drive broader practice initiatives forward by providing guidance through a marketing and client development lens.
  • Managing a team of marketing and client development professionals supporting the Litigation and Regulatory practices.
  • Managing the Global Proposals Team.

  • Outstanding problem solving and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a large and geographically diverse team.
  • Dedication to execution and ability to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Highly responsive.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • 15+ years of experience in professional services, legal preferred.
  • 2+ years of team management experience, with direct reporting lines.
  • Experience in strategic business/client development planning and pitching.
  • International exposure preferred.
  • Exceptional in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint).

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $300-375k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
