Based in New York, the IS Trainer will be responsible for providing superior service to the firm’s customers in the assigned office(s) by responding to requests, analyzing needs, developing programs and delivering appropriate training and information.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Technology Change Management & Training.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling and delivering new hire training for all attorneys and staff in assigned offices.
- Working closely with Global Services personnel to implement smooth software rollouts.
- Participating in Firm-wide projects including regression testing, analysis of business needs, prototyping of software, research and development of best practices and analysis of user reaction.
- Researching, planning, organizing and delivering training programs for all attorneys and staff.
- Writing materials for training programs as requested; evaluating, learning and making recommendations for changes for new programs and software upgrades.
- Distributing training aids such as bulletins, QuickCards and handouts. May also be asked to prepare any of the above.
- Maintaining a working relationship with the Directors of Admin to determine specific needs within the office.
- Executing certification training program to required staff as established by the firm’s Human Resources department.
- Maintaining visibility and communication with the members of the offices to determine training needs; offers “Just-in-Time” training as needed.
- Participating as an active member of the local office to provide platinum-level service in training and support.
- Contacting attendees and department representatives about training program opportunities (maintaining an updated calendar).
- Scheduling and preparing the setup of the physical classroom, conference room or virtual classroom.
- Maintaining a working relationship with the Support Center and Support Services, actively participating in troubleshooting and problem escalation.
- Working with local IS technical team on various projects.
- May assist Directors of Admin with testing and evaluating potential hires, e.g., assessing the technical skills of secretaries during interview process.
- Assisting outside consultants with preparation and administration of various training programs.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and team skills.
- Comfortable with one-on-one as well as group training. Must have the ability to translate technical concepts and terms into understandable terminology for participants.
- Ability to work with a diverse audience whose skill levels vary from the beginner, inexperienced user, to the advanced, power user. Must have ability to diffuse potential problems and enjoy working under challenging situations, while maintaining a positive approach toward their customers.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize work efficiently, multi-tasking is a must
- Maintain and adhere to Firm-wide and departmental policies, standards, operational guidelines, and administrative procedures relating to IS function
- Must be willing to travel as needed, with travel expected to be less than 20%.
- Position may require limited lifting (25 lbs. or less).
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or technical school training with equivalent experience also considered.
- Experience in the legal industry is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience delivering technical training in the legal industry and corporate environment. Successful completion of training assignments, as verifiable through evaluations or references, is required.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably eFront.
- Must have solid knowledge of Windows 11 operating system, Microsoft 365, iManage, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with Apple iOS/macOS devices as well as legal applications such as Aderant Expert Time, Litera Compare, Litera Forte, InterAction, and Foundation is required.
- Experience with Camtasia, Captivate, or other eLearning production software is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $120-130k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
