Based in any of our U.S. offices, the Legal Project Analyst will support the Firm’s global legal project management (“LPM”) initiatives, work with attorneys and other internal stakeholders to support the broad adoption of legal project management principles, and aid in the efficient management of our legal matters.

This role reports to the Senior Legal Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting reporting and analysis to help identify at-risk matters, working closely with the Sr. Legal Project Manager to provide guidance and course correction to the firm’s legal teams.
  • Supporting large-scale budget monitoring and proactively address budget variances.
  • Supporting large client portfolio analysis and tracking for some of the Firm’s biggest clients.
  • Supporting the implementation, use and development of LPM best practices, tools, techniques, and responsibilities across all practice areas.
  • Assisting in the development of tools and reports for attorneys to promote lean staffing and to ensure work is on budget.
  • Closely maintaining and tracking the Firm’s alternative fee arrangement matters, highlighting any issues that need partner attention and working closely with the billing department to ensure proper treatment of such matters.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, juggling priorities, deadlines and essential project management duties for each respective project.
  • Developing appropriate tools and reports with respect to matter work plans, planning and tracking matter timelines, milestones and defining dependencies.
  • Seeking out opportunities to improve the Legal Project Management function at the firm.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Highly professional with a strong customer service orientation, commitment to meeting deadlines, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2 years of work in finance or legal industry preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred, or willingness to obtain project management or legal project management certification.
  • General understanding of the fundamental elements of legal project management.
  • Strong experience with researching, collecting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, PBI, Excel (i.e. lookups, pivots, etc).
  • Experience with law firm billing systems (Aderant) would be preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $70-85k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
