Based in Washington, D.C., the Recruiting Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the D.C. Recruiting team, as well as support office and firmwide initiates as needed.  The position offers potential upward growth for those who want to develop a career in the field.

This role reports to the D.C. Recruiting Manager, with additional support to the D.C. Recruiting Director.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administrative support including, but not limited to, calendar management, department file and record maintenance, logistical arrangements and coordination of meetings, trainings, and presentations.
  • Preparing materials for on-campus events and interviews, such as confirming logistics, scheduling with groups and attorneys, and communicating changes as needed.
  • Supporting all aspects of the Summer Program, including event planning, budget and calendar maintenance, and tracking event participation.
  • Providing on-the-ground help for D.C. office attorney-facing and summer associate-facing events, including those organized by other departments.
  • Coordinating logistics for recruiting-related meetings, trainings, and firm presentations.
  • Assisting with all aspects of lateral, clerk, and student recruitment, including utilizing our recruiting software to schedule interviews, solicit interviewer comments, and store department information, providing interview support (both in-office and virtual), and creating critical recruiting correspondence such as offer letters.
  • Managing a shared electronic mailbox and shared electronic calendar for the department (both seasonal and annual events).
  • Tracking and processing recruiting expenses with the use of the firm’s accounting software system.
  • Responding to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner and serving as a resource for recruiting-related inquires.
  • Interfacing and collaborating with key personnel in Human Resources, Accounting, Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and the firmwide Legal Recruiting Department.
  • Attending D.C. office committee meetings as needed.
  • Participating in monthly meetings/events through the local recruiting professionals’ association (WALRAA).

  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1-2 summers of professional experience through an internship or similar.
  • Strong computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with ViRecruit, ChromeRiver, and iManage is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $60-66k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
