Based in New York, the Sr. Communications Coordinator will be responsible for providing responsive, effective support to implement the firm’s public relations initiatives that raise the firm’s profile and position our lawyers as leaders.

This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and preparing awards and industry survey submissions.
  • Drafting external announcements, which may include press releases, media pitches, website news posts, and deal notes.
  • Monitoring daily media coverage and preparing daily media clip emails.
  • Creating and updating media lists for communications initiatives.
  • Assisting with implementation of the firm’s media strategy.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Providing administrative support to the team.
  • Developing and maintaining efficient systems for organizing communications materials.
  • Promoting effective work practices and providing excellent client service to fellow team members and other constituencies.  ​

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing/proofreading skills – communicate persuasively and concisely with superior grammar skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, juggle competing deadlines and tasks and to reprioritize quickly as needed.
  • Professional demeanor – communicate and work with team and other constituencies respectfully and professionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter and as part of a highly collaborative team.
  • Excellent client service skills and a positive attitude.
  • A willingness to learn.

Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts degree is required, preferably in Communications, English or Journalism.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a communications role.
  • Prior experience at a law firm is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $65-85k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
