Based in New York, the Staff Attorney will join the Business Restructuring & Reorganization practice group. The ideal candidate will be a big law attorney who wants to make a lifestyle change with a more predictable schedule. This role will not include any tracking or minimal billable hours requirement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct document review with respect to finance/distressed finance and liability management transactions.
  • Create credit reviews/grids.
  • Conduct due diligence and review legal documentation.
  • Review finance documents, including credit reviews, loan agreements, indentures and security documents.
  • Contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of deal lists, and case studies and organize relevant department experience to use for business development.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a quick paced environment.
  • Must be proficient/advanced in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience

  • J.D. with a strong academic record is required.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial restructuring, special situations, liability management, debt finance, and/or related practice areas.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex finance transactions, liability management exercises and debt restructuring processes.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $390-450k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
