Based in any US office (Los Angeles preferred), the Tax Manager is responsible for maintaining firm-wide tax compliance in the jurisdictions in which we operate, with a focus on the tax compliance in the United States at federal, state, and local levels.
This role reports to the Tax Associate Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the preparation of partnership returns with corresponding Schedule K-1 and income tax footnotes.
- Maintain partners’ composite tax elections and related records.
- Review partnership and non-resident partner estimated tax calculations.
- Complete transactional analyses and documentation for tax reporting and audit defense.
- Prepare schedules and reports for the partnership’s various business taxes.
- Develop and implement tax accounting methodology and business processes.
- Lead tax research projects and maintain current knowledge of tax regulations affecting the partnership.
- Monitor proposed changes in tax laws and evaluate their impact on the partnership.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and work with key personnel on various ad hoc projects.
- Interact with federal, state and local tax authorities.
- Play a key role in year-end tax planning and cash flow management.
- Drive process improvements, utilizing technology to improve efficiency.
- Provide accurate information to and review filings prepared by external tax preparers
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform research on tax laws and regulations for various jurisdictions and different types of tax.
- Knowledge of international, VAT/GST, business, property, sales/use, and excise taxation in addition to income tax is desired.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments and taking ownership of key responsibilities.
- Possess strong analytical skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach in completing assignments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Candidate is expected to be able to communicate effectively with partners and the highest level of management in a professional manner.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Experience
- 7+ years of tax experience with strong experience in partnership and individual taxation with a Big 4 Accounting Firm and/or a Multinational Law Firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- Experience as an effective team member as well as building and leading teams.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $152-175k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
