Patrick Cowherd is Of Counsel in the Houston office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he currently practices with the firm’s Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance practice groups. His practice focuses on capital markets, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. He represents issuers and investment banking firms in connection with public offerings and private placements of both equity and debt securities, including initial public offerings, shelf registrations, and Rule 144A offerings. Patrick’s mergers and acquisitions experience includes both public and private company acquisitions and dispositions. He has substantial knowledge and transactional experience with exploration and production companies, midstream businesses as well as the oil field services sector. From 2012 to 2021, Patrick served in various capacities with several international companies in the oilfield services industry.
He received a J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law in 2004, and an L.L.M from Georgetown University Law Center in 2005. Patrick earned a B.A., with honors, from The University of Texas at Austin.
