Lauren R. Goldman is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is Co-Chair of the Technology Litigation Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Class Actions, Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation, and Appellate and Constitutional Law Practice Groups. Lauren’s practice focuses on high-stakes class- and mass-action disputes, particularly in the areas of data privacy and product liability.

Lauren currently serves as lead counsel for major technology and social media companies in putative class actions alleging privacy violations under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, the Wiretap Act, the Stored Communications Act, the California Invasion of Privacy Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and various common-law privacy doctrines.

Lauren also serves as lead legal strategy counsel for several consumer-products companies facing mass litigation dockets. Over the past fifteen years she has handled legal issues and appeals in connection with more than a dozen high-stakes jury trials and she has successfully challenged many excessive punitive damages awards at trial and on appeal.

Lauren received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the New York University Law Review and of the Order of the Coif. Following graduation, she served as a law clerk to Judge Dennis Jacobs of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
