Melina Kronester

Associate Attorney

Melina is an associate in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations and of the Corporate practice group.

Melina focuses on corporate governance, compliance as well as white collar investigations. She advises clients in in connection with the structuring, assessment and implementation of compliance management systems, ESG related reporting and due diligence and international trade law/sanctions compliance. She has worked on several matters at the intersection of corporate governance and white collar issues in various industrial sectors. 

Melina studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she passed her first state examination in 2015 and at the Sapienza University of Rome. After her second state examination at the Higher Regional Court of Munich in 2017, she worked on her doctoral thesis at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the same time for a renowned German law firm.

During her studies and her clerkship she gathered international working experience at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Vienna, at the EU Delegation to the OECD in Paris and at an NGO tackling corruption in Cape Town.

In 2021 she received her LL.M. degree from Columbia University School of Law in New York as a Fulbright scholar.

In addition to her native German, she speaks English and Italian.
