Alyssa B. Kuhn is a litigation associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
Alyssa’s practice focuses on high-stakes commercial litigation, white collar defense, and internal and regulatory investigations. She has represented clients across a variety of industries, including technology, banking/finance, cryptocurrency, insurance, media, and betting and gaming.
Alyssa has litigated a wide range of complex civil and commercial disputes in both state and federal court. She has significant experience preparing cases for trial. Alyssa represented an AIG affiliate in a 25-day RICO, fraud, and breach of contract trial in the Southern District of New York against an originator of life settlements, which resulted in a successful settlement. In addition, she was a member of the trial team that obtained complete dismissal of fraud charges against Patriarch Partners and Lynn Tilton following a three-week trial against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Alyssa often represents institutions, hedge funds, companies, and individuals in civil, criminal, and regulatory matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulators. She also has extensive experience conducting confidential internal investigations for clients. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers as ‘One to Watch’ in Criminal Defense: White Collar (2023 - 2025).
Alyssa maintains an active pro bono practice, where she currently represents individuals and organizations in immigration-related matters. She received an outstanding service award from the Legal Aid Society for her work on behalf of a class of disabled New Yorkers challenging a disaster food stamp program in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
From 2017 to 2018, Alyssa clerked for the Honorable Joseph F. Bianco, then U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
Alyssa graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2013, where she was an editor of the Journal of Law and Politics. She received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Duke University in 2010.
