Mashoka Maimona is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and currently practices in the firm’s Corporate Transactions and Capital Markets Practice Group. Her practice encompasses a broad range of corporate and capital markets matters, including representing companies, underwriters, and investors in a variety of public and private financing transactions, Securities and Exchange Commission reporting requirements and ownership filings, and general corporate matters. Mashoka also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on immigration and asylum-related proceedings and advising non-profits on various corporate matters.
Mashoka graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she served as Senior Editor of the Faculty of Law Review and the Journal of Law and Equality. She has an MSc. in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts (English, Honors) from Carleton University.
Prior to practicing law, Mashoka had a career in journalism, speechwriting, and advising senior government leaders, including a former Premier and Cabinet Ministers in Ontario. Mashoka is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
