Matthew Schwartz  is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  He is a member of Gibson Dunn’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Groups.

Mr. Schwartz primarily focuses on representing both public and private companies and financial sponsors in connection with mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising clients more broadly in the sports and entertainment industry, including with respect to the acquisition and financing of professional sports leagues and franchises and the negotiation of media rights agreements.  In addition, Mr. Schwartz advises corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships on various formation, governance, commercial agreements and other general corporate issues.

Mr. Schwartz has been recognized as “One to Watch” in Mergers and Acquisitions Law by The Best Lawyers in America®.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Schwartz was a corporate associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in both its New York and Hong Kong offices, and a counsel in O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s Entertainment, Sports & Media practice in New York.  Mr. Schwartz received his Juris Doctor in 2012 from the University of Chicago Law School.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Economics from Brandeis University in 2007.

Mr. Schwartz is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
